CANC2: Itinerary Meeting, Roebourne, July 27

After yesterday I was feeling a little more optimistic, but also that there was no resolution to the major problems. We still have no agreement on how to make decisions. But we need to set the itinerary, and people want to go to Roebourne. That's 20km upwind. The wind is strong and consistently blowing the way we want to go. I think I could get to Nanutarra in a day right now (300km). I'm getting annoyed about that, it's not as though the wind will always be there. And you don't get the chance for an easy 300km day every trip.

Some people went to Roebourne, they watched the video and looked around.

We got down to two routes - the Nanutarra option with is all sealed, or the railway road with is mostly dirt. Rather than jam the process I kept quiet, because I was not going to risk the gravel on the trike - too much danger of riding for a couple of days on "nice" gravel then being faced with an unknown distance of unridable crap in front of me.

Eventually it's accepted that we will ride the sealed road but do a bit of gravel through Karajini National Park because the seal goes the wrong way.
