Still feel ugly and stressed. Move camp to behind reservoir more out of the way. Rode into town (1km) after eating nuts for breakfast. That was a mistake, now I feel really grotty. The Internet place is really nice, it's the post office agency, and stock and station agent type place with a really nice guy running it. We chat, and he charges $5/hr for Internet access on his office computer. Entertaining! Cheap coz not an STD call for him. Also had a shower at the roadhouse which was nice - it's their shower rather than a for-hire shack so pleasant. It is just a tiled area in one corner of the room, which was also cool.
Decided to bail out on Eddie and the plan to ride across the Nullarbor. Have not heard much from her, and not sure that fixing the trike will be enough to let me ride another 3000km. Also running low on money. Lots of excuses to go back to Sydney :-) Talking to Kelly seems to be a bit of an emotional lifeline for me at the moment, and we seem to be talking more than before and I'm more optimistic about being with her.
Got rained on, it's now windy and cold. Post office guy had maps and advice, so made notes:
Several options, all likely to be better than the main road which is narrow two lanes and has lots of trucks. Detour is narrower, no trucks but lots of locals. From Wubin the group plans 100/50/100km days, so next day should take us 13km past Bindi Bindi which is roughly the turn-off where we need to make the decision.
